“Take a Blessing when you need one, leave a Blessing when you can”

That is the the premise of Christ Lutheran’s new community outreach outdoor food pantry. Blessing boxes are small pantries stocked with free food, paper products and personal care items for people in need. They serve to provide interim help for families when local food banks are closed. The pantry is located in the front of the church for easy access by pedestrians or cars stopping by to either take a blessing or to donate a blessing to the box.

Ryan Salmon has created a beautiful Blessing Box for the church as his Eagle Scout project. Ryan’s team of Boy Scouts completed the installation of the pantry during God’s Work Our Hands Sunday.

The outdoor pantry will be stocked partially from the Outreach Food Bank donations or direct donations from the community. Items desired include individually wrapped paper products like toilet paper or paper towels, non-perishable food items, personal care items (fragranced soaps & shampoos must be in plastic bottles), diapers, cereal, and pasta. Please no chocolate or sweets that might attract uninvited guests.
